A researched- based program that:

  • links an educational system with an instructional program.

A phonics program for Grades 1, 2, and 3 that:

  • establishes for students an understanding of the systematic & predictable relationship between spoken sounds and the written letters that the sounds represent
  • A system of teaching that enables students to understand that spoken words can be broken down into constituent parts
  • A way that facilitates familiarity with the sound-symbol approach to language

INSTANT PERSONALITY PHONICS ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

  1. A complete kit, ready to use. This kit contains picture cards, sound and letter cards that cover single sounds, vowels, blends, diagraphs, and diphthongs. It has charts for spelling rules and complex English examples. You will find it an amazing collection of everything a teacher needs to teach phonics, and spelling while applying it to the structure of words.

    • Communication With A Smile
The purpose of this step is to provide the opportunity for every student to have a pleasant mini-dialogue to satisfy a basic need of ease in talking.
    • Power Step or Rhyming
This step gives all students a specific power which enables them all to learn a whole concept some time; either now or in the future. These concepts can include rhyming, dictionary skills or reading directions.
    • Living One’s Knowledge
Step three deepens the awareness in students that they can learn because they have learned so much already.
    • New Lesson: This step has four major parts when presenting a new idea.
      A. Difference Question
      B. Old Risk Exercise
      C. New Bit of Knowledge
      D. New Risk
    • Sound Spelling or Risk Activities
Familiarity of frequently spelled words and spelling patterns are practiced to help solidify them in memory and make them comfortable when new words and new sounds become a challenge. These risk activities are designed to develop good thinking habits.
  4. Each step is in concert with the philosophy and psychology of a proven educational system. It meets the guidelines of scientific research and utilizes the methods of best practice.
  5. Linking an educational system with an instructional plan enhances the value of the entire system. The content of, Instant Personality Phonics Activities is structured to promote the development of high levels of conscious awareness in students.

Workshop Way offers a class called Instant Personality Phonics that will help teachers put together the kit and teach them how it corresponds with the Lesson Plan Book. Teachers can do this on their own but instruction in a Workshop is the best way to learn how it works within the philosophy and psychology of our system. It takes 20 to 30 hours of instruction to learn this process.

A whole school may participate or an individual teacher may join others for a workshop.
