“I remember in fourth grade feeling that school was boring and I was hemmed in. At the time, I was living in the 9th Ward in New Orleans, LA. Sr. Grace Pilon helped me by using her new method called, “Workshop Way”. It changed my life.

“I observe that whenever the classrooms I visit become hectic, they can always fall back on peace and order through the 'Workshop Schedule'. They bring back the sense of focus and direction to an otherwise unorganized day!”
Pat Bailey
Volunteer for WW

“You know, my teacher says that everything in our school has to make sense. So, Mom, all you need to do every day is to figure out if it makes sense”.
This was a story told by one of our consultants who taught Workshop Way to others for many years.
In Loving Memory of
Sr. Jackie Bennett (deceased)

“I have seen WORKSHOP WAY transform different student’s at all different growth points into human beings who love learning, and feel intelligent, important and able to manage their own learning. I believe in the power of the system, as an educator and a human being, and I continue to grow in using it.

As educators, in our efforts to better teach and meet the needs of all learners, we have a tendency to try every new trend that comes along – in theory, methods materials etc. Throughout all this coming and going of trends and practices, WORKSHOP WAY has remained consistent, though not inflexible in its basic philosophy and structure.

As I continue to read educational articles, I am amazed at how Grace h Pilon, without the benefit of so much research , knew intuitively what human beings need in growing, and how she deliberately defined her( the teacher’s) role as facilitator in this endeavor.”
Pt Baldus, Michigan Teacher

“Today, my own 36 years of teaching have convinced me that the structures offered by Grace Pilon fit every wave of educational advancement. We, as educators, have only to see the teachable moment and provide the educational setting for the unfolding of the human potential. And WORKSHOP WAY provides us with the setting, techniques and strategies to accomplish this.”
In Loving Memory of
Sr. Ann Marie Mc Mahon, New York

“Self- esteem is one of the buzz words of today. In many classrooms, (unlike a WORKSHOP WAY classroom) there is self-esteem time” every day in class. With this approach, the students might be fine in class, but then they go out to kill one another! Workshop Way has solid, consistent, designs for students’ self-discovery of their worth and their self-esteem. Nourishing true values of one’s worth is essential to the survival of mankind.”
Jo Ann Delyea
Keynote Address, California Conference

“WORKSHOP WAY is a long tern solution to many of today’s problems. If elementary children have it, they will have more motivation, like school, and stay in school. Before WORKSHOP WAY at Danneel School, many of our students would drop out fast and hang around the corner. Now many our graduates are able to get into the high school of their choice.”
Rudolph Deterge, New Orleans, LA.

From Students

Thank you, Sr. Grace for making WORKSHOP WAY. I wouldn’t like school if I didn’t have the Workshop. Gr 5 Student St Elizabeth School, Chicago

We learn a lot during the course of the day, but we also have fun. The children that attend our school receive a great gift of learning, The WORKSHOP WAY.

Our school is a safe place where people care about our needs. No child’s answer is
stupid or dumb. Any child has as much right as another child to learn. The teacher lets us feel safe and in peace.
Gr.8th St Bartholomew School, Younkers, NY

I love my school. The teachers don’t just hand you a bunch of papers and say, “here! Do threes.” WORKSHOP WAY is interesting.

I love our school because people don’t rush me when I do my task. I can work at my own pace.

Everyone gets their own time to think. If we don’t finish before someone else, no one cares, and that’s a good feeling. To know that it’s all right- - -Students, WORKSHOP WAY SCHOOL, San Diego, California
