The Essential Phonics Bundle includes a downloadable version of the grade level Phonics Lesson plan book and the grade level Lessons for Thinking.  The 190 pre-cut Phonics Flash Cards and the 503 pre-cut Picture Cards to illustrate all consonant and vowel sounds will be shipped to the purchaser.  This is a $54 savings if these products were sold separately.

Workshop Way’s PHONICS links the content and methodology of WORKSHOP WAY’s philosophy and psychology.  The philosophy and psychology of WORKSHOP WAY’S® phonics program respects differences in children’s timing and way of learning.  While the pace of the lessons is steady, the timing for students to learn is flexible as students participate in lessons with their knowledge and their way of knowing.  

The content of Workshop Way’s PHONICS is based on literacy standards (phonemic awareness, phonics, word recognition, writing, and communication) and promotes the development of high levels of conscious awareness in students. The instructional techniques focus on freeing students from fear and promoting a classroom environment of enthusiastic involvement. The goal of instruction is to facilitate active involvement in each lesson by 100% of the students according to their timing and way.

If the teacher changes grade levels between first, second and third grades, only the lesson plan book needs to be changed.  The Phonics Flash Cards and Picture Cards are used in all three grade levels.

All products from Workshop Way are copyrighted and the purchaser is entitled to use the materials in their own classroom but is restricted from printing for multiple classrooms.

  • The 140 LESSONS for THINKING pages are no ordinary worksheets. With only one direction on the page, students figure out what to do by studying the page. This product is downloaded after purchase.
  • This item is to be printed on plain copy paper, one copy per student with a few extras.  How to implement “the Workshop Way” is detailed in the instructions.
