Pre-K Literacy Lessons and Pre-K Lessons for Thinking:
Workshop Way’s Pre-K Literacy Lessons® 2026 is 160 lessons that include vocabulary development, number recognition and understanding, phonemic awareness via rhyming and direct instruction on beginning sounds and syllables as well as critical thinking activities and both gross and fine motor skill practice. The needs of the whole child are addressed with Workshop Way’s goal of students who love learning and develop feelings of importance, intelligence and the power of self-management at each student’s unique time a way for learning.
The lesson plan book is laid out so that directions for implementing Workshop Way’s unique 5-Activity lesson plan are given with enough detail so that teachers can adjust to meet their particular curriculum needs.
Pre-K students can range in age from 3-year-olds to 5-year-olds. This age range is wide with many developmental needs. The lessons give flexibility for the teacher who has a class of mainly 3-year-olds or mainly 4-year-olds that will soon be 5-year-olds.
Activity Five of every lesson is the Pre-K Lessons for Thinking® sheet that is included in this download. The Pre-K Lessons for Thinking sheets cover a wide variety of Pre-K skills: tracing, matching, counting, locating, categorization, and patterns.
As the students participate in each lesson, they develop a love for learning while learning how to learn, how to think, and learning self-management and well as practice in both gross and fine motor skills. The whole class lessons gives equal opportunities to all students for language development and experiences that open up learning capacity and maintain the development of thinking skills.
